It was for a UK company operating at one of the busiest place “Woking”, and the service was to provide cabs on demand via phone calls. The cab service world was changing on the other side with the cab service giants and competing with them was not an easy task. There was another problem, that the available software in the market to provide an automatic booking service was pretty costly. So they were in search for a company which can do bespoke development for them and Blue Copper was ready for it.

We made a really big software suite here comprising Android applications for Customer, Cab Drivers & Cab Entertainment, and responsive Web application Customer facing booking portal and a robust admin panel to handle job bookings. Geo-fencing, Cab allocation via queue or proximity, point to point navigation, integration with telephony system, geo location-based ads in the vehicle. It was bundled with all the newest features and was a complete package. Blue Copper delivered this project after working day & night for faster GO TO MARKET. It was indeed a milestone for the company.

Key Challenges

  • The existing team was already using a very popular desktop application to manage entire booking process and client was expecting not to deviate from the user experience much
  • There was demand of various booking options like on call booking, window booking, app booking and many more which made the booking process complex in nature but our job was to keep it simple and intuitive
  • The entire system was to be so perfect and fast that it could process thousands of bookings, invoices, ratings and other services on time without any delays
  • There were numerous number of integrations like: Telephony system, Notification services, Dispatch services, Intelligent media service and many more which are required to be in sync perfectly

Our Solution

  • We proactively offered them a plan to build entire platform using micro services, reason being that was the most suitable architecture to handle such a giant solution suite
  • We segregated the cab allocation system as a separate module and in the same way the administration console was running differently, every part was communicating with each other using well managed and documented APIs
  • Data modeling was focused mainly to retain all information to make the application intelligent and scalable
  • Management Reporting, KPI, Reports were also part of the scope
  • We have delivered the project on time with having 4 Mobile Native Apps, 2 Web Apps and backend server for cab dispatch facility as a part of delivery BOM
